Key activities conducted by the DEI Specialist may include:

Identify and implement strategies to communicate and engage with all families and community members, especially those that are traditionally underserved, as partners in your work.
Develop norms and processes to understand the needs, interests and aspirations of your students, families and community members and incorporate their perspectives on key decisions. Identify and remove barriers that may exist for engagement.
Raise awareness about DEI issues, engage families in conversations on critical DEI issues, and build in feedback channels to ensure that the school’s commitment to DEI reflects the aspirations of the community.
