  • Develop processes and systems to track and review data and trends on an ongoing basis. Recalibrate policies and practices as needed.
  • Build cultural competence in teachers and other adults to engage with diverse students.

  • Identify any barriers that might hinder participation (e.g., limited programs, lack of after-school transportation, familial responsibilities, etc.) and identify solutions.
  • Develop processes and systems to track and review data and trends, recalibrating policies and practices as needed.

  • Identify and implement strategies to communicate and engage with all families and community members, especially those that are traditionally underserved, as partners in your work.
  • Develop norms and processes to understand the needs, interests and aspirations of your students, families and community members and incorporate their perspectives on key decisions. Identify and remove barriers that may exist for engagement.
  • Raise awareness about DEI issues, engage families in conversations on critical DEI issues, and build in feedback channels to ensure that the school’s commitment to DEI reflects the aspirations of the community.
